No "Empire City" stage, a limited version of "Mazuri"

plus, the wii version lacks an overworld compared to the 360 / PS3 version, instead, it shall just have a text based level-select. WTF?!

"- Hub worlds are nice. You can look at the pretty graphics, talk to random people (they usually don't have anything special to say though), or buy food and collectibles from the various shops. Each continent has its own hubs to explore and I actually enjoy them. I feel sorry for the wii/ps2 owners who have the point and click stuff. Reminds me of the good SA1 days. Townspeople never have anything interesting to say though. ="

THEN again, it is said at other points, that the Wii version might still be better then the 360 version.
Not to forget the hackability of the Wii through homebrew, though it's faaar too early to say WHAT might be comming out of this for Sonic UNleashed.

So, basically... WAHsdnmcyblaaahh?

Now it's one week left to the europe-release, and I'm totally thrown back in my question which version I'm gonna buy.
Just great, thanks Sega, or, Dips, rather, for cutting on content for the Wii version. X(
...and only telling us now.

I feel like buying the 360 version now...
but the Wii version is said to be better
and it might get interesting haxx
and I'M CONFUSED, WRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH :X
  • Mood: Dumbfounded
  • Watching: TV
  • Eating: your brains ;D
  • Drinking: applejuice

adabat and mazuri are both in the wii version, I know because I unlocked them, I haven't seen your source for info that said the 360 would have overworlds, I haven't seen empire city, true, but I don't know what that is, and I played europe (can't remember in-game name) daytime stage, so no problems there, there's some stuff I saw in the trailers which I haven't gotten to yet in-game (mostly in what appeared to be china) but there's still some continents I haven't been to yet and there's some strange doors in the temples which require sun and moon tokens to open which I haven't opened yet (and which look interesting)

...

I doubt the 360 version's going to be much better, but buy whichever

...

*reads sig*

so... you played sonic chronicles, you're about 5 years and 10.5 months older than me, interesting, you don't act like you're 23-24, and you liked sonic nexgen, hmm... interesting...

...

TRON ate my brain, he won't give it back until I watch the first half of his movie

yeah i was thinking of getting the wii version but it seems the 360 version seems to be more superior. I fell for this before when i bought the Wii version of Star Wars: The force unleashed. Although the graphics were downgraded and theres not a lot of stuff u can move, at least its interactive. i'll see how the interaction works in Sonic unleashed if it makes the gameplay more fun or not. I was thinking of getting an xbox 360 so i can play games like Gears of War, Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts and the Forthcoming Resident Evil 5, I hear that the consoles break down easily with Red Rings of death and it has no ventilation or sommat.
So i'm going to wait until this problem is sorted till i get the console.

I guess you'll have to wait for quite a while,
isn't the 360 already out since... uh... a couple years?

It's even cheaper than a Wii now O_o only 179€
darn, and I paid 100 € only 1,5 years ago. And that was a special offer.
Basically, I only made the choice to buy the 360 because of, well, see in my signature.

It does have ventilation, it's rather too loud, actually.

well, but at least, Microsoft extended the guaranty for cases of "red rings of death" to 3 years.

Hm, Banjo-Kazooie 3, hm, yeah, I might get that one

Gathering what people said in the Sonic Stadium forums, the 360 version seems to be the best one of the bunch! Of course, you can get both versions at different times. I'm trying to do that.

well, at least allows you get the good ol' NOT-Wii-compatible Action Replay which still has the option to add new codes to it, on eBay. :)

I downloaded the Wii version (I'm gonna buy the Xbox 360 version), and it's fun, but it feels like it's incomplete.
Like there's this one point where there's a cutscene with a boss and a bunch of monsters threatening Tails. And then it's suddenly followed with a cutscene where Sonic the Werehog defeated the boss and the monsters.

The Mazuri level in the Wii version is only a boss.

And Night-time levels have 3 acts, while the Day-time levels only have 1 act.

wow, sounds like a huge cut -_-

I'm more and more in for Xbox.

Hm, does that night/day 3-on-1 ratio count for both versions or just the Wii?

From what I heard on Sonic Retro, no. In the Xbox 360 version there are as many Nighttime levels as Daytime levels. Maybe even more if the 60% daytime/40% nighttime thing Sega says is true.

Ok, now I just read ib Sonic Retro that there are more daytime levels then nighttime levels in the 360 version.

Wii version is Evil, don't buy it under any circumstances, sonic's daytime gameplay and the graphics are good, everything else is not

WHY DIDN'T YOU WARN US SEGA??????????

Yeah, same question here,
it's, like, the game's already out in the US, and we only now get to know the difference between Wii and 360 version :X

Also: WHY? Why is the Wii-version cut? O_o

maybe the adventure fields weren't done yet, or maybe sega's just retarded (second option is more likely) anyway, how good the game is depends on how much patience you have, lots of patience and you will eventually get to and enjoy the good bits, little patience and you will give up long beforehand

nah, but Sega did really tick me off with that one, cutting down on the games content and not even informing us in time? The game comes out next week. wtf, sega?

Actually, Sega said that the level design in the Wii/PS2 versions are different from the 360/PS3 versions.

Well yeah, at first, but didn't they go back on that later, saying they'd be the same? At least I seem to recall something to that effect... Ahwell, whatever... we'll see how it turns out I guess.

I've heard of that. Both look like decent games, though possibly better on the 360 version. Besides, Wii players will have the exclusive Black Knight game that also acts as a compensation.

I plan on getting both, since they're different in terms of content and all that. But I can get only the Wii version first for now, while the 360 one, well that'll have to wait much later. When the oppertunity arises (mind you, we have a 360, but it ain't exactly my console, if you catch my drift)

Yeah... though perhaps, you can convince your brother to buy the 360 version then? ;D

Well, buying both is also another option, but it wouldn't be the same experience if I'd have already completed the other version of the game, thus knowing the whole story already.

So, I'd have to buy both at the same time, and switch versions after every level I play...
but I'm not sure how much sense that makes, or if it's really worth it buying both versions...

As of right now, I tend to just buy the 360 version...
but who knows how I'll feel about that tomorrow, not to mention, one week later... I'm pretty much torn from one side to the other and back again ...

I think the term "When Hell freezes all over comes to mind".

Well, the story is pretty much the same, but maind you the level content is veeeeeeery different. Kinda like how the older games had two acts of the same level, that they all were differently designed. Think of it like that, only you've one of those acts for one console.
I hear there's more daytime levels in the 360 one, and the Werehog levels are very long in the Wii version. 360 has 3D hubs and Tornado levels, and so on. I'd pretty much buy both versions to try out the different levels and contents. (plus, leveling and item collection is pretty much simpler in the Wii version).

Well, you better off buying what you think is best.
