Or at least I'm thinking about doing it.
Darn journal title doesn't have enough space to put in properly worded titles... Grumble grumble... -_-;;

Well, I studied Computer Science, and there was that one course I took on "Game Programming". So there's that.
(Though what we did there was for Windows / Xbox360, not for Smart Phones.)

Anway, my questions are these:

:bulletred: What's the best free "game engine" for Android to build on, with good code examples and explanations?
Something that's good to get started with so I can grasp the basics, but also do more complex stuff once I understand them.

:bulletred: :bulletred: I don't want to make "generic platformer #95.161", I want something that I can modify. Change the physics. Take an existing example, see how it works, and then turn it into, I dunno, a 2D-version of "Portal" or something. (Just an example.)

:bulletred: ...Is it legal to make money (selling apps / ad-revenue) if you use that engine as the base for your game? Or do you have to build everything completely from scratch?

id go with either unity or unreal, you should be able to build good 2d games from the ground up on those for free.
