Chapters 1 - 5 of an actual fanfic based on this image is now available. [link] OR [link]
Explanation for non-bronies:
Inside the world of Equestria, Daring Do is a fictional character, as featured in season 2, episode 16. [link] Daring Do is the hero of a book series with strong references to Indiana Jones ... and a James Bond villain.
Pinkie Pie is - it's by now been cemented in canon - capable of breaking the fourth wall, pulling stuff out of other realities alltogether and generally ignore the laws of physics that everypony else has to live by.
And Rainbow Dash loves reading about Daring Do's adventures. Imagine her surprise finding herself stuck in the world of of her favourite book-series.
...breaking the fourth wall into the other direction was only a matter of time.
It still bothered her how she had even gotten here, how it was even possible that she was walking side-by-side through some buried underground-structure with her favourite fictional character become flesh.
But as they resumed trotting deeper into the temple, Dash's thoughts kept going back to the event.
She really hadn't seen it coming. There had been something, like a strong itch at the back of her skull, a sense of unease pushing itself to the top of her mind from the depths of her subconsciousness. And then she had jumped to shove Daring Do out of the way before the spike-trap could squash them both.
It was almost like …
“No.”, she told herself, sternly. “That's … that's not it.” She almost would have compared the experience to her hyperactive, party-enthusiastic friend's “Pinkie Sense”.
But she had seen something out of the corner of her eye.
She hadn't been able to grasp what it was at the time, but the harder she tried to recall it, the clearer it became. It had been... letters. Words. A sentence. Something along the lines of “... the characteristic noise of a … spikes closing in right behind … Rainbow Dash slammed her body into ... ”.
And then she had acted, before the trap was even visible. She had known what was going to happen, before it happened.
I'll put this one up on the stack of possible fanfic-ideas I have yet to realize.
[EDIT] okay, I'm on it now. The concept is just too awesome not to realize it. It's simply dripping with ideas!!

- Library background traced from the show - shape of the book traced from the show (OH CELESTIA, FORGIVE ME! ) - oval/round shape of the character's eyes traced to get the style right - the Daring Do logo (the banner that says "Daring Do" in thick letters on the book cover)
- The characters (and book-cover) are NOT traced. (No, Daring Do isn't traced either. I just stuck a bit too close to the reference images. Eh. I'm still trying to get the style right. Learning by doing helps.)

...and if you can't find the time to sit down and read, you can always just download the mp3! ...and then go draw something or play a videogame or go outside with your mp3-player or smart phone, while reading the 15 minutes of the first chapter.
What can I say! That's how I read fanfiction, and it's a great way to multi-task!
That's not the way to say hello to a toon!
Who knows how much time it'll be before she'll be out of the screen and into someone's living room?
Only time will tell...

Funny how things can change in 10 hours.
I know very well how it feels when it comes in bursts, happens to me all the time with game designing.
I'll read this later when I get the time.

That'd translate to roughly 40 minutes or so of a text-to-speech synthesized reading.
And I'm only just getting to the part where she 'reads the next paragraph'.
This is gonna be quite the read.
